

Reading in Public Places When I was nine, barricades were made of folders (with brads) to keep prying eyes off my spelling tests. In middle and high school, barricades were made out of cheap wooden locker shelves that cost as much as a whole tree. As I’m sitting in a café during breakfast, I’m interested in how many people also have paper barricades: Virginian Pilot, New York times, and giant glossy magazines that blindly reflect the florescent lighting.
